Series creator Seth MacFarlane revealed that Brian Griffin is his favorite character in the show. He also has a picture of the fictional dog on his office door.

Brian is also the only Family Guy character for which MacFarlane uses his real speaking voice. MacFarlane normally has to alter his voice while voicingGlenn Quagmire, Peter Griffin, and Stewie Griffin. However, his favorite character to voice is Tom Tucker, the anchorman for Quahog 5 News.

The Car He Drives

Brian is the first character to make an appearance in American Dad!. He pops up in the seventh episode of Season 6 titled "The People vs. Martin Sugar." In the episode, Stan ranks Brian in first place in his list of top ten fictional dogs. Brian is then seen sipping a martini outside a courthouse where he claims that Stan is fictional too. Stan is angered by the claim andlambasts him.

Whileliving in Los Angeles, Brian works as a waiter, a car wash attendant, a p*rnographic film director, and a screenwriter. In Quahog, he has a brief spell as a substitute teacher at Buddy Cianci Junior High School. He also drives a taxi before moving on to work for the Quahog PD as a sniffer dog.

Brian is forced to leave the police force after his cocaine addiction, that he got from frequent drug-sniffing for work, impairs his judgment. He is still portrayed as a well-off dog as he is able to afford a nice car. He also pays all his bills.

His Twitter Account

Brian loves social media. In Season 16's sixth episode titled "The D in Apartment 23," it is revealed that his Twitter handle is"@d0gbackwards." This is an actual Twitter account that has been in existence since 2016.

In the episode, Brian's tweets make him popular on the social media platform but he makes the mistake of tweeting something that's racially insensitive. As soon as he leaves a theater, he finds an angry mob waiting for him. The mob chases him home but due to the heat he has brought, and Lois asks him to find another place to stay.

How He Became A Griffin

How exactly did Brian acquire the Griffin family name?In the seventh episode of the series titled "Brian: Portrait Of A Dog", an explanation is given. Apparently, Peterfound him wandering around and took him in to stay with hisfamily in Quahog.

However, there is contradicting information in Season 7's fifth episode titled "The Man With Two Brians." In the episode, Brian shows the family a couple of videos of him as a little puppy, and in them, he is already in the Griffin home. In Season 18's eleventh episode titled "Short Cuts," the story of him being adopted is reiterated.While being adopted, Brian apparently left a friend namedShredder behind. The friend has been mad at him ever since.

His Political Alignment

In the pilot episode, Brian says that he hates politics and he generally doesn't vote. The reason for him not voting isn't revealed.It might be due to the fact thatonly humans are allowed to do so, or that he is not above the age of 18.

He Only Sees Black And White

Despite the fact that Brian mostly behaves as a human, he exhibits several dog traits too. For example,he prefers to clean himself by licking parts of his body with his tongue instead of taking a bath and enjoys scratching at fleas with his hind leg. He also defecates outside the house.

The Identity Of His Real Parents
