When you had reached the rightful age of 13, those words first appeared on your arm: I hope I did not harm you, my lady.
 
Literally the first thing that popped into your head when you saw that is who the heck talks like this?
 
Something you had learned growing up in this world is that the first words of your soulmate would appear on your body and the same would be true vice versa. It was said to be an ancient practice made by the stars themselves, making the power of true love rule over all other power in all the universe and beyond.
 
You were not sure how you felt about the idea of some fates deciding for you who were you meant to be and spend the rest of your life with. It was a strange concept for sure, but most people have accepted to this to be true. 
 
Growing up, you have seen many people who have ignored the words on their body and seek their own path for their lives, dating and even marrying those who were not theirs. Sadly it always ended in heartache for them for their other would leave them for their true love.

Then again you also saw many of your close friends who simply waited and eventually found the love of their lives. They were always so happy with their mates. Sure they had their fights and arguments but you could still see how much they loved each other just by looking at them. 
 
At the end of the day, you decided to just wait for the day until they suddenly appeared into your life. In the meantime, you still had a life and a rather demanding job. 
 
Ever since the whole Sokovia thing happened, the Avengers had been recruiting and assembling a team to help defend the earth from forces on and outside of this world. Since your mutation and your fighting skills were slightly better than the average human, Fury called you in. 
 
Though the training was hard sometimes, it was definitely effective on the field. Especially now when you and some of your teammates were trying to stop an army of rebels from killing more of a peaceful nation. 
 
As you were fighting with all of your might and power, suddenly you heard a strike of thunder hit the ground causing a mini earthquake. Soon after that, you heard in your mic from Cap: "Guys Thor is here as backup. Keep fighting til he knocks out their power grid and fortress."
 
So the ever elusive god of the thunder shows up? All you ever heard is that he is from another realm, he has an awesome hammer that everyone wants to hold and he is apparently a prince. 
 
You kept focusing on the idiots who thought they can hurt with their weapons. Who was the weirdo who gave the technology and weapons to terrorize this country? You swear if it was Tony again, you were going to kill that man. 
 
Soon you felt a presence beside you and knocked out a whole bunch of men out with a single blow of his hammer onto the ground. While it was effective, it made you fall down as well as some of the stones on top of you.
 
Did I mention that part of your mutation was super strength and healing?

You simply pushed them off of you as if they were little crumbs on your shirt. The presence you felt drawn to before came up to you and inquired, "I hope I did not harm you, my lady."
 
Without thinking about it, you simply responded as you stood up getting the dust off of you. "I'm fine, don't worry your pretty little head about me."
 
Then you looked up at the stranger and noticed how extremely good looking this guy was. He must have some serious good genes in his system. The man whom you realized was Thor was looking at you incredulously at what you said.
 
Slowly your mind pieced it together. He literally just said the words that have been on your arm since you were younger. Thor was your soulmate?!?!?
 
Before either of you can say something, Cap spoke in your mic: "Alright team good work. Meet me back at the Quinjet."
 
You answered him back, "On my way Cap."
 
As you were walking back to the ship, a hand came upon your shoulder causing shivers to run down your spine and arms. "Excuse my lady, I never got your name."
 
You turned around and smiled at the god of thunder. "Name's (Y/N) (Y/L/N). Nice to finally meet you Thor."
 
Thor gave you a wide happy smile and bend down to kiss your hand, causing your heart to beat so much faster than what was normal. "Believe me my lady the honor is all mine. You have no idea how long I have waited for you."
 
Thus it was history. 
 
You and Thor began a beautiful relationship. It was hard at times with the long distance thing from one realm to another but it was all worth in the end. 
 
You had never felt so happy, safe and loved in your whole life. And it was all because of one man who wanted to cherish you with everything in his being. 
 
Just to think it all started with those simple words.
