Does UCF have good Greek life? ›

The UCF fraternity/sorority community is very strong, and all of the chapters fulfill their duties to achieve excellence in these areas.

Dues vary from chapter to chapter but average around $300 for fraternities and $400 for sororities per semester.

The UCF Panhellenic Council is the governing body for the twelve National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at UCF.

Are there any requirements? Membership in a fraternity and sorority chapter is limited to any student who is paying activity and service fees and is currently or continuously enrolled with the University of Central Florida. Incoming members must also have a GPA of at least 2.5 to join.

At UCF we recognize 48 Greek organizations with a population over 3,000 undergraduate students.

How much are the most expensive sorority dues? The most expensive sorority, or at least one of the most expensive, is the University of Alabama. A new member will pay over $4,000 per semester.

Is it cheaper to live in a sorority house or dorms? Depending on where you attend college and the other lodging options available, living in a sorority house may be cheaper than living in a dorm.

Chi Omega is the largest sorority in the National Panhellenic Conference, with the most members and the most collegiate chapters.

How do you get picked to be in a sorority? ›

Sorority recruitment is a week-long process beginning with an orientation session. It is more formal in nature with specific themes each evening that cover a different aspect of sorority life, including sisterhood, philanthropy, and other themes. It concludes with Bid Day on Friday.

If scholarships, grants, and other financial aid aren't enough to cover your Greek life expenses, student loans could be another option. Just remember that whatever you borrow in student loans will have to be paid back — so be sure to borrow only what you need to keep your future costs as low as possible.

The voting process for the sororities can vary depending on the campus and the sorority. Two main methods usually take place: Chapter Vote: A chapter vote is when everyone in the sorority has a say in potential new members. Your name will come up, and everyone will vote on whether or not to invite you back.

University of Alabama

It promotes educational, cultural, and social experiences for its students. Since 2011, the campus has held the title of having the largest and most vibrant Greek life communities in the country. It's home to at least 39 fraternities and 24 sororities, so you'll have lots of groups to choose from.

The University of Central Florida is truly a great school. Because the campus is so large, there are numerous activities that go one everyday. They really do have something here for everyone! There are chocolate clubs, mixed martial art clubs, painting and drawing societies, live cooking tutorials and much more.

The student must be an active member of the community and be in good standing with their fraternity or sorority, the council, and institution. The member must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
