Roscoe Lance, 81, died Monday, January 6. He was born and grew up in Grant, NE. He attended University of Nebraska Lincoln where he and Judie met and began their lifelong affair. Married December 6, 1959-during a short semester break-they both graduated in June, 1960. They moved to Des Moines where Ross began his career with John Deere. At the Des Moines Works he was an industrial engineer analyst and Production Control supervisor. In 1965 he was transferred to the Moline Deere & Co. Corporate Personnel Department as a Salary Administrator, then as Manager, Office Administration, and Salary Administrator for the General Offices. While in this position he played a major role in the planning and start-up of the new and remodeled off premise facilities, culminating in the opening of the West Office building. He then served as Manager, Administrative Services until his retirement in 1988.
Soon after his Deere retirement he took a half-time position as office manager at the Bozeman, Neighbour, Patton and Noe law firm. After his second retirement six years later, he and Judie began enjoying travels with Road Scholar and Figge Art Museum-including many Signature U.S.Cities and overseas trips.
His retirement hobbies included numerous home improvement projects. He enjoyed Figge Art Museum events, QCSymphony performances, and local theater productions. He also liked "giving back" and regularly donating to favorite local causes and groups.
His survivors include daughter, Sue Killip, and son, John Lance and daughter-in-law, Susan; grandchildren, Austin and Audrey Killip, Adam, Jack and Ella Lance, sister, Virginia Schroder, and Judie, his wife of 60 years.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, January 11, at 1pm at the Unitarian Church (UUCQC) 3707 Eastern Ave, Davenport, followed by a reception. Memorials may be made to UUCQC or the Figge Art Museum.

LECLAIRE-Erle W. Glaus, 81, of Le Claire, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4-8pm at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home. Private burial at a later date. Memorials in Erle's name may be made to the King's Harvest Animal Rescue.
Erle was born on April 28, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa to Lloyd and Mae Glaus. He graduated from Moline High School in 1956. Erle was united in marriage to his Junior High sweetheart, Carol Martens, on January 7, 1957 and they had four children. Erle joined the United States Air Force and served for 4 years. He owned and operated Newhouse Inc., Century 21 Scott County Realty; and Sebastian Home; and never stopped doing what he loved. Erle was the Past President of the Scott County Home Builders Association. He loved playing cards, reading books, and watching the birds out of the window. Erle was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all Erle loved being with his family.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 63 years, Carol; his sons Greg (Deborah), Jeff, and Brian (Amanda) Glaus; grandchildren: Stephanie, Elizabeth, Jessica, John, Ian, Ashton, Keegan, Madison, and Reagan; and great-grandchildren Addison and Grayson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin; brother Keith (Joan); and sister in law Rosanne (Leonard) Schimmel.

LAKE CITY, MN-Patricia "Pat" Ann (Cooper) Quill, 85, died on Saturday January 4, 2020 at the Bluffs of Lake City, MN of natural causes and surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the First Lutheran Church of Lake City. Visitation will begin from 10 am; Service at 11 am and a luncheon will follow.
Patricia was born on September 10, 1934 to John and Myrtle (Dahlberg) Cooper in Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated from Rochester High School and attended the University of Minnesota, where she joined Alpha Xi Delta and met her husband, Harold Quill from Hayfield, MN.
The couple married in 1957 and moved to Bettendorf, IA and later Rock Island, IL of the Quad Cities, where they started their family and Hal began his lifetime career at RSM (formerly McGladrey & Pullen). Pat loved people and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Junior League, PEO, AAUW, and the VNA (Visiting Nurses Association). She enjoyed sewing, her quilting group and boating on the Mississippi river with friends and family.
As her children began to leave the nest Patricia returned to college and graduated with a BA from Mary Crest College in Davenport, IA in 1977. Patricia had a heart for the displaced people seeking refuge from the Vietnam War. As a volunteer for Catholic Social Services, she taught English and assisted numerous Hmong and Vietnamese families relocate to the US. Pats love her students and provided financial sponsorships to a number of families to expedite their US citizenship. Through these experiences, she became interested in travel and later became a travel agent.
In 1986, Hal's work relocated the couple to Charlotte, NC, where Pat engaged herself in volunteer work at Trinity Presbyterian Church, playing bridge, quilting, sewing, swimming at the Y, and educational travel. To maintain their connection to their family in Minnesota, Hal and Pat purchased a summer residence at Pepin Lodge in 1986 and divided their time between Lake City, MN and Charlotte, NC.
It is said, "Behind every good man, is a good woman" and this was true of Pat. In 2017, Patricia was honored when she accepted her husband's posthumous induction to the RSM Hall of Fame. An award that not only honored Hal's contribution to the success of the firm but also did not let Patricia's sacrifices and contributions go unnoticed.
Patricia is survived by her two sisters: Marilyn Dee Kothenbeutal of Louiseville, CO and Christine Lagarde Cooper of Ashland, WI; her three children: daughter Monica Kusakabe Quill and her two sons, Kei and Gen Kusakabe; her son Matthew Harold Quill and his children, Thomas, Victoria, Henry and Margreta Quill; and daughter Martha Sara McDade and her two children, Conor and Katherine McDade. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Quill (her husband of 46 years) and her dear sweet partner Ken Hastings of Lake City, MN. DEWITT-Carol "Grandma J" Rathje Johnson, age 83 of DeWitt, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at West Wing Place in DeWitt after courageously fighting breast cancer for 25 years. In following Carol's wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A private graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sabula. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton is assisting the family.
Carol was born in Teeds Grove, Iowa on March 8, 1936, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Lass) Rathje. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class at Sabula High School. Carol married Ralph Johnson on April 8, 1955 in Sabula, Ralph passed away in December of 1979. Carol had been employed at the Alverno from 1987 to 2012. She loved attending all of her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. She enjoyed playing cards, road trips with her friends and following the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Carol is survived by 4 children; Danny Johnson of Clinton, Diane (Galen) Peters of Teeds Grove, Tammy (Dale) Diedrich of Goose Lake and Scott (Cheryl) Johnson of Davenport; 11 grandchildren, Jason (Joey) Johnson, Chad Peters, Sarah (Adam) Buchcuski, Eric (Chere) Peters, Amy (Richard) Brazile, Jarad (Karra) Diedrich, Joseph (Vanessa) Johnson, Angela (Neil) Rickertsen, Ace Diedrich, Dantley Johnson and Mallory Johnson and 13 great grandchildren. MELROSE, IA-David Leo Scieszinski passed away at the age 83 on January 5, 2020 at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport, Iowa. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Dave was born in Melrose on February 18, 1936 in Melrose, Iowa. He grew up and worked on his family's farm. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1954. He enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to Fort Bliss, Texas the day after his high school graduation. He was selected to work on the Army's guided missile program.
Following his military service, he attended the University of Iowa on the GI bill. He graduated from Iowa law school in 1963. He practiced law in Wilton, Iowa for more than fifty years. The last forty years, alongside his friend and loyal secretary, Julie Overton.
Dave loved boating, golfing, playing cards with his friends and broadcasting Iowa Hawkeye basketball games on Muscatine radio. Most of all he loved his family.
Dave is survived by his son, Brian (Patricia) Scieszinski of Johnston; three grandchildren, Benjamin (Brooke) Scieszinski, Rachel (James) Bromm, Laura Scieszinski and Jake Dennis, all of Des Moines; great granddaughter, Jensen Bromm; brothers, Don (Joan) Scieszinski of Grandview, KS, Gene (Patti) Scieszinski of Melrose; bother-in-law, Jimmy Sullivan of Ankeny, and many nieces, nephews, cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Evelyn Scieszinski; brother, Ray Scieszinski; and sister, Lucille Sullivan.
Mass of Christian Burial will held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S. officiating. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose. Interment will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose with military rites conducted by the American Legion of Albia, Melrose & Lovilia. Memorials may be directed to Mt. Calvary Cemetery. DAVENPORT-A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Christopher, 100, of Davenport, will be 11:15a.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Kahl Home, Davenport. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 4p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. There will be additional visitation at the Kahl Home from 10:30a.m. until the time of the mass. Helen passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Kahl Home.
Helen Kehoe was born December 10, 1919 in Davenport, a daughter of Joseph and Edice (Farrah) Kehoe. She was united in marriage to Peter Christopher on June 27, 1949. He died on February 27, 1999 after almost 50 years of marriage.
Helen worked as an accountant for Sale Barns until she was in her 70s. She had also worked as a manager at Sears until 1950.
She enjoyed traveling with Peter; having been to all 50 states and parts of Europe. She volunteered as part of the Genesis Auxiliary until she was 94. Her secret to a long life was having ice cream and a beer daily. She was a talented seamstress and gardener, and enjoyed going out to dinner and spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kahl Home, Humility of Mary Shelter, or to the family.
Survivors include her children: Patricia Goodwin, Moreno Valley, California, Jackie Christopher, Rock Island, Debbie (Stan Foster) Christopher, Dunstable, Massachusetts 17 grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Siefers, Davenport.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by sons: William and Joseph Christopher, a stepson, Richard Christopher, sons- in-law, Gene Bleuer and Bud Goodwin, her parents, sisters: Charlotte Smith, Kaye Ovesen, Rosemary Siefers, Elinor Hild, Becky Siefers, and Elaine Dick. DAVENPORT-Archie J Johnson, Sr. of Davenport passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2020.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at The House of the Lord Church, 537 West 15th Street, Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Orr's Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Archie was born July 24, 1947 to John and Marion Rusan-Johnson, in St. Louis, MO.
In 1970 he married Beverly A. Wyatt, the love of his life for 50 years. In this union they had three children. Archie graduated from Blackhawk College with a degree in Pipefitting and was employed by John Deere Harvester for 35 years before retiring in 1997.
Archie enjoyed watching sports, meeting people, car shows and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; daughters, Karmen and Kelly Johnson and Kim Angel; sons, Archie, Jr. (Tondalaya), Anthony Angel, Matt Clay and Todd Poe; siblings, Kenneth (Irma) Johnson and Gladys "Millie" (Thomas) Humbard; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Clifford Norwood, five brothers, an one grandson. May they all rest in paradise.

Funeral Services will be 11 am Monday, January 13, 2020 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 – 21st Ave Moline with visitation from 9:30-11am. The Reverend Dr. Wilfred Karstens will officiate. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 246, Moline. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Bethesda Lutheran Home.
Virginia was born May 23, 1928 in rural Rock Island County, IL to Edward and Mildred Sackville Schmidt. She married James E. "Jake" Padesky on May 4, 1952 in Aledo, IL. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2017.
After graduating from Aledo High School and Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing, Virginia served as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during the Korean War. As a R.N. she worked as a school nurse retiring from the Moline School District in 1984.
A member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline she was part of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Virginia was also a member of American Legion Post 246, Moline, Trinity Alumni Association and Trinity Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Vicki) Padesky, Peoria, Amy (Ron) McGill, Blue Grass, IA, Joseph (Melissa) Padesky, Moline and Anne (Gary) VandeMoortel, Moline; grandchildren, Greg, Christopher, Luke and Jeffrey Padesky, Alex McGill, Abby Less and Jacob VandeMoortel; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Parchert and Judy Bieri; sister-in-law, Pauline Schmidt and brother-in-law, Kenneth DeSchepper. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kathleen VandeMoortel, sisters, Kathleen DeSchepper, Eleanor Bigham and Eileen Bivens and brother, Vaughn Schmidt.

BETTENDORF-William Joe Grimes, 76, of Bettendorf, passed away on Wednesday, January 8 at Senior Star at Elmore Place in Davenport.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 13 at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church with visitation one hour before the services. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bettendorf Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
Joe was born February 5, 1943 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Richard & Wilma (Cozad) Grimes. He was united in marriage to Doris J. Leedle on June 30, 2001. Joe served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 as a radio operator serving in the Special Forces.
He was retired from Alcoa and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Joe enjoyed bowling and golf and especially enjoyed yardwork. He received many compliments on his yard over the years. He also loved the company of his grandchildren and his dachshunds, Gunner and Gretta.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; his sons, Brian Grimes of Moline, Brad (Shannon) Grimes of Tama, Iowa and Keith (Augusta) Grimes of Cedar Rapids; step-daughter, Teresa Leedle of Bettendorf; step-son, Gregory Leedle of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Riley Grimes, Alexanderia Leedle, Brittany Leedle and Isaac Leedle; brothers, Gary (Connie) Grimes of Newton, Iowa, Hoyt (Jill) Grimes of Newton, Dwight Grimes of Newton and Randy (Pam) Grimes of Utah; sisters-in-law, Ilene Grimes of DeWitt, Liz (Mike) Freds of Michigan, Mary (Lewey) Laws of Marshall, Michigan and Karen (Gary) Church of Leesburg, Florida; brothers-in-law, Larry Hazel of Marshall and Doug (Sharon) Hazel of Coldwater, Michigan; and special niece, Debra Laws of Marshall.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Grimes; his sister-in-law, Jeanette Grimes; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Hazel.

CARBON CLIFF-Margaret E. "Margo" Neubauer, 95, of Carbon Cliff passed away January 6, 2020 peacefully in her home surrounded by beloved family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Bowlesburg Cemetery in Silvis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Augustana Public Radio Information Service (WVIK), or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Margo was born August 19, 1924 in Moline, IL the daughter of Greggo and Mary E. Ewart Neubauer. She supported herself all of her life through labor on the farm, in her youth playing piano alongside her brother and three close friends in the 5 Blue Notes, and 32 years in Timekeeping at John Deere Planter Works in Moline where she was admired by her fellow coworkers. She was a lifelong member of Carbon Cliff United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Illini Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, shopping trips, especially to Chicago at Marshall Fields, and watching local and touring theatre groups.
Margo loved a bright sunny day, a hot cup of coffee, and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. When you walked into Margo's home, you were welcome. She especially loved holidays when everyone would gather at her home. Margo will be remembered for her generosity, snappy sense of humor, pride in her home, and fierce independence. She was a doer, and never let loss of her sight or mobility hinder her life.
Survivors include her niece MaryLane Neubauer Blomquist; nephew-in-law Clark Blomquist; great nieces and nephews Laurel Blomquist, Holly (Monique Charlier) Blomquist, Jacob Blomquist, Justin Blomquist, and Kate (Scott Foley) Blomquist; close family friends Karla (Matt) Pinner-Carey, Lisa Pinner, EJ and Greg Fellows, the Hegland family, Mary Jane Causemaker, and Tamee Swanson Stone. The family would like to give special thanks to Casey and Genesis Hospice.

A prayer service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
Margaret was born October 2, 1960 in Davenport, the daughter of Everett "Duke" and Katherine (Thomas) Tyler. She was a graduate of Davenport Central High School. On June 10, 1978 in Davenport she married Robert Judge.
Margaret was an in-home daycare provider. She devoted her life to raising other families' children. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling, and loved Christmas and the snow. She loved being with her family, attending all of her sons and grandchildren's sporting events.

Bill was born a son of Robert C. and Margaret M. (Griffin) Haussmann on October 21, 1931 in Des Moines, IA. He was united in marriage to Joyce P. Teel on June 21, 1953 in Buffalo, IA. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, to his family he was a hero. In 1988, after 37 years of service, he retired from AT&T- Lucient.
Bill was a very social man and had breakfast at Harlan's on most mornings. He was helpful to anyone in need and a jack of all trades. He had many dogs in his lifetime and loved them all, especially, Buddy.
He is survived by son, William "Billy" (Barb) Haussmann of Davenport, IA; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" (John) Steiniger of DeWitt, IA; grandchildren: Matthew Haussmann, Corie (Shawn) Paxton, Kelly Muth, Laura (Harley) Andrews, Michael (Lea) Guldeupfeunig, Amanda Guldeupfeunig, and Garrett Niebruegge; honorary granddaughter, Jordan Dooley; four great grandsons; seven great granddaughters; and three great-great grandchildren.

Don was born on April 12, 1935 to Carl and Dorothy (Lenker) Meyer in Wilton, Iowa. He graduated from Wilton High School. Don married Irene M. Iserhott on March 24, 1956 in Wilton. After 62 years of marriage, Irene preceded him in death on April 15, 2018.
Don worked as a machinist for J.I. Case, Bettendorf for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Muscatine. Don enjoyed living in Moscow and working with animals. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football. He also enjoyed dancing, stock car races and traveling to Branson, Missouri with his wife, Irene.

Janet passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Janet Elaine Bennett was born on June 6, 1943 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Vernon and Beatrice "Peg" (Millage) Wood. Janet lived in Bettendorf most of her adult life until moving to Moline in 2000. She married Allan Moskowitz on September 30, 1966 and had two children, Matthew and Stacy (the lights of her life!). Janet and Allan were married 14 years. Janet went back to school and received her degree from St. Ambrose and had a long career at John Deere in their Pension Department before retiring from John Deere. Janet remarried the late, great, Earl Bennett on February 8, 2000.
Janet and Earl loved traveling in their R.V., visiting family, doing puzzles and frequent casino trips.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Earl. She is survived by her two sisters, Jane (Bob) Thiel, Beverly (Jim) Hansen, her children, Matthew (Corene) Moskowitz of Brighton, MI, and Stacy (Brett) Barnett of Davenport, IA, six grandchildren, Kaylie, Erica, Isabella, Alexis, Aliya, and Luke.
She will always be remembered as a strong, funny, sweet, compassionate and loving woman and will be greatly missed by all that she touched.

Orville Fredrick Meredith Born July 12, 1925 in Iberia, Mo, the only son of Fred Elmer and Eliza May (King) Meredith. He married Betty Wyss, of which one daughter, Peggy, was born from that union. Betty preceded him in death in 1955. He married Francis and was widowed again in 1992. He married Ruth Maxine Henley Miles in 1993. He joined the Army and fought in the battles in Southern France, Central Europe, Rome-arno, Rhinelander, Germany., from 1943 to 1946. He was awarded 4 bronze stars and a good conduct medal presidential unit citation. He was wounded in action in 1944 and received the purple heart award. Following his discharge from the military, he relocated to Davenport, IA where he spent the remainder of his life Orville worked for J.I.Case in Bettendorf as a plant engineer for 39 years, retiring in 1987. Orville, a man of devout faith, wanting to serve; was the first person people saw as he greeted at the Heritage church door. No matter the condition of the weather, Orville was delighted to open the door and greet you with a hand shake. He was a faithful servant. Orville served with the American Legion #26 as an honor guard for 8 years. During those 8 years he averaged serving at 100 funerals each year. He delighted serving others in this capacity. Those left to mourn his passing are wife Ruth of the home, a daughter Peggy Barry ( Clyde) of California, Mo, Grandsons, Joshua and Matthew Barry of California, Mo. Stepson, Robert Miles (Tammy) and family including 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren of Prescott, AZ. Numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends. Special friends, Larry and Lorraine Nunn, Rock Island, IL and neighbors, "The 4 Corners", having met monthly for the past 12 years. Special thanks to Genesis Hospice for excellent care. All memorials will be directed to the Heritage Church benevolence fund.

DAVENPORT-Mary Ellen (Carlin) Ehlert, who passed away at age 99 in her hometown of Davenport, Iowa, Monday, began life facing robust challenges in in the midst of The Great Depression.
The oldest of six children born to a DeWitt, Iowa, farm couple, she faced the loss of her mother (tuberculosis) and father (circ*mstances) at the tender age of 11. Orphaned and placed in St. Vincent's Home, the family persevered: Mary Ellen, Vince, James, Raymond, and sisters Alice and Margaret.
The generosity and connections of the Catholic charities allowed her and siblings to attend high school and Mary Ellen earned a sociology degree at Marycrest College, leading to a career facilitating adoptions. She married Robert Ehlert in 1948 and by 1960 they were the parents of Fred, Jim, Suzie, Bob Jr., Vince, Kathy, Patty and Mary.
Mary Ellen lived a full life reaping the rewards of dishing up endless apple-pie slices of love and encouragement. Her family will sorely miss her and follow her advice: trust in God, country and decency.
Mary Ellen Ehlert is survived by : James (Bonnie), Hardy, Va.; Robert Jr. (Tana), Carrollton, Texas; Vince (Cyndi), Atlantic, Iowa; Suzanne Murphy (Jay) and Kathleen Parr (Russel T.), both of Davenport; Patty Forrest (Terry), Byron, Minn., and Mary Eileen Jeffers (Keith) Hickory Ridge, Ark. A sister, Margaret Carlin, Davenport. She was preceded in death by husband Robert (1994) and son Fred Ehlert (2017). There are 25 grandchildren, dozens of great-grandchildren and even a few great-greats.

Floyd was born December 8, 1925, in rural West Liberty the son of Clyde F. and Viola (Mills) Park. He was a graduate of Nichols High School in 1943. On June 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Genevieve Meyers in Muscatine. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Floyd had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and later as a letter carrier for the Muscatine Post Office for 30 years. He was a member of the Muscatine VFW Post #1565, enjoyed hunting, reading, working crossword puzzles and watching the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a wonderful father and a good person.
Survivors include a David Park of Muscatine and daughter Penny (Albert) Polina of Davenport. Grandchildren: Alisa (Tim) Phillips of Corning, Nate Park of Muscatine, Tony Polina of Muscatine and Joe Polina of Coralville; great-grandchildren: Damien Polina, Astoria Phillips, Adeline Phillips and Theo Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Genevieve in 1992, brother James Park and a sister Gladys Kemp.

Dennis was born on November 21, 1936, in Moline, the son of Emmett and Leona (Reuter) Swenson. He married Carol Wenos on September 19, 1959, in First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. He had served in the United States Army Reserves.
Mr. Swenson had been employed at Modern Woodman Insurance Co, Rock Island in the Public Relations Department and later was manager of the Printing Building.
Dennis was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. He also enjoyed photography, playing cards with his friends at Modern Woodman, was an avid bowler, diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs, Rocky and Augustana sports. In his earlier years he loved playing baseball, golf and operating Carden Collectibles with Carol.

Margaret was an in-home daycare provider. She devoted her life to raising other families' children. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling, and loved Christmas and the snow. She loved being with her family, attending all of her sons and grandchildren's sporting events.

Roscoe Lance, 81, died Monday, January 6. He was born and grew up in Grant, NE. He attended University of Nebraska Lincoln where he and Judie met and began their lifelong affair. Married December 6, 1959-during a short semester break-they both graduated in June, 1960. They moved to Des Moines where Ross began his career with John Deere. At the Des Moines Works he was an industrial engineer analyst and Production Control supervisor. In 1965 he was transferred to the Moline Deere & Co. Corporate Personnel Department as a Salary Administrator, then as Manager, Office Administration, and Salary Administrator for the General Offices. While in this position he played a major role in the planning and start-up of the new and remodeled off premise facilities, culminating in the opening of the West Office building. He then served as Manager, Administrative Services until his retirement in 1988.
Soon after his Deere retirement he took a half-time position as office manager at the Bozeman, Neighbour, Patton and Noe law firm. After his second retirement six years later, he and Judie began enjoying travels with Road Scholar and Figge Art Museum-including many Signature U.S.Cities and overseas trips.
His retirement hobbies included numerous home improvement projects. He enjoyed Figge Art Museum events, QCSymphony performances, and local theater productions. He also liked "giving back" and regularly donating to favorite local causes and groups.
His survivors include daughter, Sue Killip, and son, John Lance and daughter-in-law, Susan; grandchildren, Austin and Audrey Killip, Adam, Jack and Ella Lance, sister, Virginia Schroder, and Judie, his wife of 60 years.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, January 11, at 1pm at the Unitarian Church (UUCQC) 3707 Eastern Ave, Davenport, followed by a reception. Memorials may be made to UUCQC or the Figge Art Museum.

LECLAIRE-Erle W. Glaus, 81, of Le Claire, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4-8pm at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home. Private burial at a later date. Memorials in Erle's name may be made to the King's Harvest Animal Rescue.
Erle was born on April 28, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa to Lloyd and Mae Glaus. He graduated from Moline High School in 1956. Erle was united in marriage to his Junior High sweetheart, Carol Martens, on January 7, 1957 and they had four children. Erle joined the United States Air Force and served for 4 years. He owned and operated Newhouse Inc., Century 21 Scott County Realty; and Sebastian Home; and never stopped doing what he loved. Erle was the Past President of the Scott County Home Builders Association. He loved playing cards, reading books, and watching the birds out of the window. Erle was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all Erle loved being with his family.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 63 years, Carol; his sons Greg (Deborah), Jeff, and Brian (Amanda) Glaus; grandchildren: Stephanie, Elizabeth, Jessica, John, Ian, Ashton, Keegan, Madison, and Reagan; and great-grandchildren Addison and Grayson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin; brother Keith (Joan); and sister in law Rosanne (Leonard) Schimmel.

LAKE CITY, MN-Patricia "Pat" Ann (Cooper) Quill, 85, died on Saturday January 4, 2020 at the Bluffs of Lake City, MN of natural causes and surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the First Lutheran Church of Lake City. Visitation will begin from 10 am; Service at 11 am and a luncheon will follow.
Patricia was born on September 10, 1934 to John and Myrtle (Dahlberg) Cooper in Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated from Rochester High School and attended the University of Minnesota, where she joined Alpha Xi Delta and met her husband, Harold Quill from Hayfield, MN.
The couple married in 1957 and moved to Bettendorf, IA and later Rock Island, IL of the Quad Cities, where they started their family and Hal began his lifetime career at RSM (formerly McGladrey & Pullen). Pat loved people and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Junior League, PEO, AAUW, and the VNA (Visiting Nurses Association). She enjoyed sewing, her quilting group and boating on the Mississippi river with friends and family.
As her children began to leave the nest Patricia returned to college and graduated with a BA from Mary Crest College in Davenport, IA in 1977. Patricia had a heart for the displaced people seeking refuge from the Vietnam War. As a volunteer for Catholic Social Services, she taught English and assisted numerous Hmong and Vietnamese families relocate to the US. Pats love her students and provided financial sponsorships to a number of families to expedite their US citizenship. Through these experiences, she became interested in travel and later became a travel agent.
In 1986, Hal's work relocated the couple to Charlotte, NC, where Pat engaged herself in volunteer work at Trinity Presbyterian Church, playing bridge, quilting, sewing, swimming at the Y, and educational travel. To maintain their connection to their family in Minnesota, Hal and Pat purchased a summer residence at Pepin Lodge in 1986 and divided their time between Lake City, MN and Charlotte, NC.
It is said, "Behind every good man, is a good woman" and this was true of Pat. In 2017, Patricia was honored when she accepted her husband's posthumous induction to the RSM Hall of Fame. An award that not only honored Hal's contribution to the success of the firm but also did not let Patricia's sacrifices and contributions go unnoticed.
Patricia is survived by her two sisters: Marilyn Dee Kothenbeutal of Louiseville, CO and Christine Lagarde Cooper of Ashland, WI; her three children: daughter Monica Kusakabe Quill and her two sons, Kei and Gen Kusakabe; her son Matthew Harold Quill and his children, Thomas, Victoria, Henry and Margreta Quill; and daughter Martha Sara McDade and her two children, Conor and Katherine McDade. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Quill (her husband of 46 years) and her dear sweet partner Ken Hastings of Lake City, MN. DEWITT-Carol "Grandma J" Rathje Johnson, age 83 of DeWitt, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at West Wing Place in DeWitt after courageously fighting breast cancer for 25 years. Carol was born in Teeds Grove, Iowa on March 8, 1936, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Lass) Rathje. She was the salutatorian of her graduating class at Sabula High School. Carol married Ralph Johnson on April 8, 1955 in Sabula, Ralph passed away in December of 1979. Carol had been employed at the Alverno from 1987 to 2012. She loved attending all of her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. She enjoyed playing cards, road trips with her friends and following the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Carol is survived by 4 children; Danny Johnson of Clinton, Diane (Galen) Peters of Teeds Grove, Tammy (Dale) Diedrich of Goose Lake and Scott (Cheryl) Johnson of Davenport; 11 grandchildren, Jason (Joey) Johnson, Chad Peters, Sarah (Adam) Buchcuski, Eric (Chere) Peters, Amy (Richard) Brazile, Jarad (Karra) Diedrich, Joseph (Vanessa) Johnson, Angela (Neil) Rickertsen, Ace Diedrich, Dantley Johnson and Mallory Johnson and 13 great grandchildren. MELROSE, IA-David Leo Scieszinski passed away at the age 83 on January 5, 2020 at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport, Iowa. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Dave was born in Melrose on February 18, 1936 in Melrose, Iowa. He grew up and worked on his family's farm. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1954. He enlisted in the United States Army and was sent to Fort Bliss, Texas the day after his high school graduation. He was selected to work on the Army's guided missile program.
Following his military service, he attended the University of Iowa on the GI bill. He graduated from Iowa law school in 1963. He practiced law in Wilton, Iowa for more than fifty years. The last forty years, alongside his friend and loyal secretary, Julie Overton.
Dave loved boating, golfing, playing cards with his friends and broadcasting Iowa Hawkeye basketball games on Muscatine radio. Most of all he loved his family.
Dave is survived by his son, Brian (Patricia) Scieszinski of Johnston; three grandchildren, Benjamin (Brooke) Scieszinski, Rachel (James) Bromm, Laura Scieszinski and Jake Dennis, all of Des Moines; great granddaughter, Jensen Bromm; brothers, Don (Joan) Scieszinski of Grandview, KS, Gene (Patti) Scieszinski of Melrose; bother-in-law, Jimmy Sullivan of Ankeny, and many nieces, nephews, cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Evelyn Scieszinski; brother, Ray Scieszinski; and sister, Lucille Sullivan.

Helen Kehoe was born December 10, 1919 in Davenport, a daughter of Joseph and Edice (Farrah) Kehoe. She was united in marriage to Peter Christopher on June 27, 1949. He died on February 27, 1999 after almost 50 years of marriage.
Helen worked as an accountant for Sale Barns until she was in her 70s. She had also worked as a manager at Sears until 1950.
She enjoyed traveling with Peter; having been to all 50 states and parts of Europe. She volunteered as part of the Genesis Auxiliary until she was 94. Her secret to a long life was having ice cream and a beer daily. She was a talented seamstress and gardener, and enjoyed going out to dinner and spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kahl Home, Humility of Mary Shelter, or to the family.
Survivors include her children: Patricia Goodwin, Moreno Valley, California, Jackie Christopher, Rock Island, Debbie (Stan Foster) Christopher, Dunstable, Massachusetts 17 grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Siefers, Davenport.

Archie was born July 24, 1947 to John and Marion Rusan-Johnson, in St. Louis, MO.
In 1970 he married Beverly A. Wyatt, the love of his life for 50 years. In this union they had three children. Archie graduated from Blackhawk College with a degree in Pipefitting and was employed by John Deere Harvester for 35 years before retiring in 1997.
Archie enjoyed watching sports, meeting people, car shows and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; daughters, Karmen and Kelly Johnson and Kim Angel; sons, Archie, Jr. (Tondalaya), Anthony Angel, Matt Clay and Todd Poe; siblings, Kenneth (Irma) Johnson and Gladys "Millie" (Thomas) Humbard; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Virginia was born May 23, 1928 in rural Rock Island County, IL to Edward and Mildred Sackville Schmidt. She married James E. "Jake" Padesky on May 4, 1952 in Aledo, IL. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2017.
After graduating from Aledo High School and Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing, Virginia served as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during the Korean War. As a R.N. she worked as a school nurse retiring from the Moline School District in 1984.
A member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline she was part of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Virginia was also a member of American Legion Post 246, Moline, Trinity Alumni Association and Trinity Auxiliary.

Joe was born February 5, 1943 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Richard & Wilma (Cozad) Grimes. He was united in marriage to Doris J. Leedle on June 30, 2001. Joe served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 as a radio operator serving in the Special Forces.
He was retired from Alcoa and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Joe enjoyed bowling and golf and especially enjoyed yardwork. He received many compliments on his yard over the years. He also loved the company of his grandchildren and his dachshunds, Gunner and Gretta.

CARBON CLIFF-Margaret E. "Margo" Neubauer, 95, of Carbon Cliff passed away January 6, 2020 peacefully in her home surrounded by beloved family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Bowlesburg Cemetery in Silvis. Margo was born August 19, 1924 in Moline, IL the daughter of Greggo and Mary E. Ewart Neubauer. She supported herself all of her life through labor on the farm, in her youth playing piano alongside her brother and three close friends in the 5 Blue Notes, and 32 years in Timekeeping at John Deere Planter Works in Moline where she was admired by her fellow coworkers. She was a lifelong member of Carbon Cliff United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Illini Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, shopping trips, especially to Chicago at Marshall Fields, and watching local and touring theatre groups.
Margo loved a bright sunny day, a hot cup of coffee, and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. When you walked into Margo's home, you were welcome. She especially loved holidays when everyone would gather at her home. Margo will be remembered for her generosity, snappy sense of humor, pride in her home, and fierce independence. She was a doer, and never let loss of her sight or mobility hinder her life.
Survivors include her niece MaryLane Neubauer Blomquist; nephew-in-law Clark Blomquist; great nieces and nephews Laurel Blomquist, Holly (Monique Charlier) Blomquist, Jacob Blomquist, Justin Blomquist, and Kate (Scott Foley) Blomquist; close family friends Karla (Matt) Pinner-Carey, Lisa Pinner, EJ and Greg Fellows, the Hegland family, Mary Jane Causemaker, and Tamee Swanson Stone. A prayer service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Margaret was born October 2, 1960 in Davenport, the daughter of Everett "Duke" and Katherine (Thomas) Tyler. She was a graduate of Davenport Central High School. On June 10, 1978 in Davenport she married Robert Judge.
Margaret was an in-home daycare provider. She devoted her life to raising other families' children. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling, and loved Christmas and the snow. She loved being with her family, attending all of her sons and grandchildren's sporting events.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bob; sons, Joshua and Chris Judge, both of Davenport; grandchildren, Lexi Walker, Peyton, Phillip, and Tyler Judge; her father, Duke Tyler of Davenport; siblings, Mary Henry of Davenport, Judy (Mark) Stevens of Eldridge, and John (Penny) Tyler of Davenport; brother and sisters-in-law, Jim (Mikki) Judge, Jeanne Holub, Susan Henckle, Carol (Jim) Meyer, and Mary (John) Steinle; and was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Bill was born a son of Robert C. and Margaret M. (Griffin) Haussmann on October 21, 1931 in Des Moines, IA. He was united in marriage to Joyce P. Teel on June 21, 1953 in Buffalo, IA. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, to his family he was a hero. In 1988, after 37 years of service, he retired from AT&T- Lucient.
Bill was a very social man and had breakfast at Harlan's on most mornings. He was helpful to anyone in need and a jack of all trades. He had many dogs in his lifetime and loved them all, especially, Buddy.

Don was born on April 12, 1935 to Carl and Dorothy (Lenker) Meyer in Wilton, Iowa. He graduated from Wilton High School. Don married Irene M. Iserhott on March 24, 1956 in Wilton. After 62 years of marriage, Irene preceded him in death on April 15, 2018.
Don worked as a machinist for J.I. Case, Bettendorf for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Muscatine. Don enjoyed living in Moscow and working with animals. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football. He also enjoyed dancing, stock car races and traveling to Branson, Missouri with his wife, Irene.

Janet passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Janet Elaine Bennett was born on June 6, 1943 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Vernon and Beatrice "Peg" (Millage) Wood. Janet lived in Bettendorf most of her adult life until moving to Moline in 2000. She married Allan Moskowitz on September 30, 1966 and had two children, Matthew and Stacy (the lights of her life!). Janet and Allan were married 14 years. Janet went back to school and received her degree from St. Ambrose and had a long career at John Deere in their Pension Department before retiring from John Deere. Janet remarried the late, great, Earl Bennett on February 8, 2000.
Janet and Earl loved traveling in their R.V., visiting family, doing puzzles and frequent casino trips.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Earl. She is survived by her two sisters, Jane (Bob) Thiel, Beverly (Jim) Hansen, her children, Matthew (Corene) Moskowitz of Brighton, MI, and Stacy (Brett) Barnett of Davenport, IA, six grandchildren, Kaylie, Erica, Isabella, Alexis, Aliya, and Luke.
She will always be remembered as a strong, funny, sweet, compassionate and loving woman and will be greatly missed by all that she touched.

Orville Fredrick Meredith Born July 12, 1925 in Iberia, Mo, the only son of Fred Elmer and Eliza May (King) Meredith. He married Betty Wyss, of which one daughter, Peggy, was born from that union. Betty preceded him in death in 1955. He married Francis and was widowed again in 1992. He married Ruth Maxine Henley Miles in 1993. He joined the Army and fought in the battles in Southern France, Central Europe, Rome-arno, Rhinelander, Germany., from 1943 to 1946. He was awarded 4 bronze stars and a good conduct medal presidential unit citation. He was wounded in action in 1944 and received the purple heart award. Following his discharge from the military, he relocated to Davenport, IA where he spent the remainder of his life Orville worked for J.I.Case in Bettendorf as a plant engineer for 39 years, retiring in 1987. Orville, a man of devout faith, wanting to serve; was the first person people saw as he greeted at the Heritage church door. No matter the condition of the weather, Orville was delighted to open the door and greet you with a hand shake. He was a faithful servant. Orville served with the American Legion #26 as an honor guard for 8 years. During those 8 years he averaged serving at 100 funerals each year. He delighted serving others in this capacity. Those left to mourn his passing are wife Ruth of the home, a daughter Peggy Barry ( Clyde) of California, Mo, Grandsons, Joshua and Matthew Barry of California, Mo. Stepson, Robert Miles (Tammy) and family including 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren of Prescott, AZ. Numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends. Special friends, Larry and Lorraine Nunn, Rock Island, IL and neighbors, "The 4 Corners", having met monthly for the past 12 years. Special thanks to Genesis Hospice for excellent care. DAVENPORT-Mary Ellen (Carlin) Ehlert, who passed away at age 99 in her hometown of Davenport, Iowa, Monday, began life facing robust challenges in in the midst of The Great Depression.
The oldest of six children born to a DeWitt, Iowa, farm couple, she faced the loss of her mother (tuberculosis) and father (circ*mstances) at the tender age of 11. Orphaned and placed in St. Vincent's Home, the family persevered: Mary Ellen, Vince, James, Raymond, and sisters Alice and Margaret.
The generosity and connections of the Catholic charities allowed her and siblings to attend high school and Mary Ellen earned a sociology degree at Marycrest College, leading to a career facilitating adoptions. She married Robert Ehlert in 1948 and by 1960 they were the parents of Fred, Jim, Suzie, Bob Jr., Vince, Kathy, Patty and Mary.
Mary Ellen lived a full life reaping the rewards of dishing up endless apple-pie slices of love and encouragement. Her family will sorely miss her and follow her advice: trust in God, country and decency.

Floyd was born December 8, 1925, in rural West Liberty the son of Clyde F. and Viola (Mills) Park. He was a graduate of Nichols High School in 1943. On June 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Genevieve Meyers in Muscatine. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Floyd had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and later as a letter carrier for the Muscatine Post Office for 30 years. He was a member of the Muscatine VFW Post #1565, enjoyed hunting, reading, working crossword puzzles and watching the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a wonderful father and a good person.
Survivors include a David Park of Muscatine and daughter Penny (Albert) Polina of Davenport. Grandchildren: Alisa (Tim) Phillips of Corning, Nate Park of Muscatine, Tony Polina of Muscatine and Joe Polina of Coralville; great-grandchildren: Damien Polina, Astoria Phillips, Adeline Phillips and Theo Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Genevieve in 1992, brother James Park and a sister Gladys Kemp.

Don was born on April 12, 1935, to Carl and Dorothy (Lenker) Meyer in Wilton, Iowa. He graduated from Wilton High School. Don married Irene M. Iserhott on March 24, 1956, in Wilton. After 62 years of marriage, Irene preceded him in death on April 15, 2018.
Don worked as a machinist for J.I. Case, Bettendorf for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Muscatine. Don enjoyed living in Moscow and working with animals. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football. He also enjoyed dancing, stock car races and traveling to Branson, Missouri with his wife, Irene.
Don is survived by his children: Rebecca (Doug) Taylor of Park City, Utah, Thomas (Diane) Meyer and Michael Meyer both of Muscatine, Jeffrey Meyer of Cedar Rapids, and Diane Meyer (Kevin Stewart) of West Des Moines; 5 grandchildren: Heather and Matthew Meyer, Hana Meyer; and David and Christine Taylor; 4 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Shirley (Joe) Stroud of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

ROCK ISLAND -- Dennis A. Swenson, 83, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at First United Presbyterian Church, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Visitation will also be 4 – 7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left to church or Pregnancy Resources QC.
Dennis was born on November 21, 1936, in Moline, the son of Emmett and Leona (Reuter) Swenson. He married Carol Wenos on September 19, 1959, in First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. He had served in the United States Army Reserves.
Mr. Swenson had been employed at Modern Woodman Insurance Co, Rock Island in the Public Relations Department and later was manager of the Printing Building.
Dennis was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. He also enjoyed photography, playing cards with his friends at Modern Woodman, was an avid bowler, diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs, Rocky and Augustana sports. In his earlier years he loved playing baseball, golf and operating Carden Collectibles with Carol.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; children, Sharon (Kirk) Hakanson, Lynn (Mark) Rognstad, David Swenson, Rob (Cheryl) Swenson; grandchildren, Robin (Brian) Grunder, Shawn Hakanson, Kirbi (Brandon) Stone, Morgan (Marc) Yerry, Kaylyn Hakanson, Amy Rognstad, Emerson Swenson, Steven (Kim Marie) Sullivan, Allyse Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Nathan Paulsen, Marisa Paulsen, Claire Paulsen, Danielle Paulsen, Gavyn Cowan, Beckett Yerry; brother, Duane (Susie) Swenson; sister-in-law, Gail Wenos; brothers in law, David (Jeanne) Wenos, Richard (Colleen) Wenos; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Logan Swenson and great granddaughter, Adalyn Gedde.

BETTENDORF -- A memorial service for Lyle J. Ortner, 90, of Bettendorf, formerly of Cedar Rapids, will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service. Memorials may be directed to the American Legion, Boy Scouts of America, or the Family Museum, Bettendorf.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Ortner; children, Kendra (Marc Friedman) Ortner, Jared (Alicia) Ortner, six grandchildren; brothers, Dale Ortner, Tom (Donna) Ortner; sister, Nancy (Frank) Tobin; numerous nieces and nephews.

DAVENPORT -- Margaret E. Judge, 59, a resident of Davenport, died Friday, January 3, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street in Davenport.
A prayer service celebrating her life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Visitation will be 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
Margaret was born October 2, 1960, in Davenport, the daughter of Everett “Duke” and Katherine (Thomas) Tyler. She was a graduate of Davenport Central High School. On June 10, 1978, in Davenport she married Robert Judge.
Margaret was an in-home daycare provider. She devoted her life to raising other families' children. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling, and loved Christmas and the snow. She loved being with her family, attending all of her sons and grandchildren's sporting events.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bob; sons, Joshua and Chris Judge, both of Davenport; grandchildren, Lexi Walker, Peyton, Phillip, and Tyler Judge; her father, Duke Tyler of Davenport; siblings, Mary Henry of Davenport, Judy (Mark) Stevens of Eldridge, and John (Penny) Tyler of Davenport; brother and sisters-in-law, Jim (Mikki) Judge, Jeanne Holub, Susan Henckle, Carol (Jim) Meyer, and Mary (John) Steinle; and was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine; and her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Corinne Judge.
