  1. Join us for Super Sunday!

Right friends, with no more play today we'll leave you to go and rest up, refuel and get ready for what should be a fantastic day at the Masters, when we'll hopefully see the champion crowned.

Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm are trying to make it a two-horse race, but it only takes one bad swing around Augusta National for everything to change in a hurry.

So it's goodbye from a shortened, soggy Saturday, but get prepared for an extended super Sunday that should provide all the magical thrills and spills that only a Masters Sunday can conjure up.

We'll be back on with live text commentary from 13:00 BST. See you then!

So, if we're to get this done tomorrow the leaders will have to play 30 holes, so it'll be a long and tough day and the winner will really earn the Green Jacket.

Brooks Koepka has the right temperament for that though, as nothing seems to bother him much at all - there's more life in an urgent note than there is in his body language on the course.

Mentally it may be tough, and there's always the famous 'back nine on Sunday' where anything could happen, and also 30 holes is a lot of walking around here for someone who has had as many knee problems as Koepka.

  3. Post update

Cleary the other silver lining to play ending early for the day...one of my colleagues can grab his chippy tea while the Augusta National staff get the course into the best possible shape for the morning.

  4. What happens next?

Well, the forecast for Sunday looks much better, much drier anyway and a bit warmer so we SHOULD get a full day's play in with every chance of getting the tournament done.

Augusta National drains well and of course there's the famous SubAir system, which we've written about far too much today, in place for the greens

We're just waiting for confirmation but it'll be an early start with the option of playing three-balls and even a two-tee start again for the final round if needed.

    We'll keep you posted.

  5. Post update

Tiger Woods is probably cursing Justin Thomas right now! I mean, who in their right mind enjoys golf in these conditions.

As Scottie Scheffler can tell you - when you win, you have the beautiful trophy - a replica of the clubhouse, the legendary Green Jacket, of course, but also a mighty cheque!

Earlier in the third round Augusta National announced a purse of $18 million for the tournament.

The winner will come away with $3.24m - which equates to £2.6m.

    Runner-up will get $1.94m (£1.56m)

At the lower end of the scale, the 50th ranked player will walk away with $45,560 (£36,500) and players below will receive cash prizes from $44,280 (£35,600) depending on their scores.

Those still plugging away will definitely be able to afford some new waterproofs with that.

  8. PLAY SUSPENDED FOR DAY

That's your lot I'm afraid, with no more play today from a submerged Augusta National with just too much water on those greens and rain set to continue throughout the day, so it'll be an early ending to Saturday's play and we'll all come back tomorrow to try and hopefully get the 87th Masters finished off.

  9. Post update

    Morikawa -5, Hovland -5, Day -4 (7)

Collin Morikawa played a bit of a guessing game with his line on a birdie putt at eight. He chooses wrong and his effort slides and stays well left of the hole.

Viktor Hovland was up next but discussion about play stopping had begun and that was that.

  10. HOOTER SUSPENDS PLAY

Three blasts in a row. That means players are allowed to complete the hole they are on should they wish to.

Two greens proving a big issue. The par-four seventh is almost under water. And the 12th is also looking pretty saturated.

And the evacuation siren is also sounding. Everyone off the course now. No more play.

  11. Post update

This is the sort of weather where most of us would have been off the course half an hour ago.

Grips slipping, feet squelching, dreaming of a hot shower and the clubhouse sandwiches.

The drainage system and squeegee mops mean this lot aren't going anywhere... yet.

Not sure how long even Augusta can hold on though.

  12. Waiting to mop up the green

    Koepka -13, Rahm -9, Bennett -6 (6)

Our leaders are just having to wait around a bit due to some excess water on the seventh green so the Augusta National crew and busy trying to get rid of that - the SubAir system isn't enough so it's out with the gold old squeegee...

  13. Fitzy flying high

    Fitzpatrick -5 (11)

You know you're making moves up the leaderboard when the television cameras suddenly appear to start following you.

Here's Matt Fitzpatrick on the ridiculously tough par-four 11th. In the middle of the fairway, staring down the pin. His ball is right on line... bounces short and stops short of the putting surface. On another day that's getting on.

We've all practiced getting down in two from the edge of the green... and Matt completes it without fuss.

  14. Post update

    Woods +9 (16*)

Oh no. A soaked Tiger Woods can't escape the water. His clothes are drenched and so is another ball.

The 15-time major champ lumps his tee shot into the drink on the 16th and that'll be another shot - or make that two - gone.

    Wet and miserable.

  15. Sheffield steel

    Fitzpatrick -5 (10)

Matt Fitzpatrick is sneaking up the leaderboard nicely. He's still eight shots behind the leader, but three birdies in his opening eight holes have got him in position should the top two falter.

All those cold rainy days in Sheffield coming back to help him today. A par on 10 and if he makes another eight of those, you'd fancy he'll be in a good spot for Sunday.

  16. Post update

    Morikawa -5, Hovland -5, Day -4 (7)

Viktor Hovland finds the back of the seventh green with his seventh and finds himself chipping on from the fringe before knocking in a close-range par putt.

There's a lot of standing water there on the front right of the dancefloor and all three avoid it though Collin Morikawa and Jason Day would almost certainly have preferred to have missed the bunkers, front and left.

Day gets up and down to make par but Morikawa can't drain a par-saving putt from nine feet.

  17. Woods bottom of the pile

    Woods +7 (15*)

Talking of things sinking quickly, things are getting ugly for Tiger Woods.

The five-time champion, who started on the 10th remember, bogeys the 14th and follows that up with a double on the next.

His third shot to the 15th green spins back into the drink and leaves the former world number one with the expression of a bloke who's just been told the chippy has run out of fish.

  18. Leaderboard

    Third round

    -13 B Koepka (6)

    -9 J Rahm (6)

    -6 C Morikawa (6), S Bennett* (6)

    -5 M Fitzpatrick (10), V Hovland (6)

    -4 P Cantlay (12), J Rose (9), R Henley (9), P Mickelson (8), J Niemann (8), J Day (7)

  19. Bogey for Mickelson

    Mickelson -4 (8)

Phil Mickelson is going backwards. He follows a bogey on the seventh with a horror drive into the trees on the long eighth.

"Oh no," says the three-time champion as his ball careers into the branches not far from the tee.

The second is crushed up the fairway but we don't see his third shot.

The fourth is a flicked wedge into the green. Usually a magician from this kind of distance, Phil hits a poor one. About a 2/10 effort that is short and spinning away from the hole. Two putts. Bogey.

  20. Scheffler makes birdie

    Scheffler -3 11*

Scottie Scheffler has a little chuckle to himself as he plops his second into the right bunker on the second but he splashes out beautifully to leave a birdie putt from 10 feet.

He strides up to this and slots it into the middle of the cup. Much more like it from the world number one.
